Jenipapo or Genipa americana is a plant that produces a round fruit, used in the traditions of Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas.

The Jenipapo fruit is turned into a natural dye traditionally used in body art for protection, as well as in crafts, symbolizing both beauty and cultural identity to tell stories, and mark rites of passage.

In this painting we see the woman’s face behind the leaves representing the consciousness of the Jenipapo, embodying the living spirit of this ancestral plant.

Organic shapes and indigenous patterns add layers to the composition, symboling realms seen by those who live in deep connection with nature.

This piece comes framed in a matt finish oak box frame.
