Sky View Ceiling Mural
AN IMMERSIVE CEILING MURAL FOR MAISON M., GENEVA
The idea
Maison M. invited me to transform the ceiling of one of their treatment rooms into an open sky, creating a quiet moment of escape for clients during their head spa treatments. Lying back, they are invited to slow down, breathe, and imagine themselves beneath soft clouds and birds drifting overhead.
The result is a mural designed to dissolve the boundaries of the room and bring a sense of light, openness and calm to the experience.
Creating an Urban Oasis
Located in the heart of Geneva's Rive district, Maison M. envisioned more than a treatment room, they wanted to offer their clients a moment of complete disconnection.
Inspired by expansive skies and the gentle rhythm of birds in flight, I designed a mural that feels airy and atmospheric, using delicate layers of colour and soft cloud formations to create depth without overwhelming the space.
The composition encourages the eye to wander naturally, making the ceiling disappear into an endless sky.
from Watercolor to Ceiling
Before painting the ceiling, I developed the composition through a series of watercolor studies.
Working first on paper allowed me to explore the movement of clouds, subtle colour transitions and the placement of each bird before translating the painting onto a much larger scale.
Painting overhead required adapting the softness of watercolour techniques into layers of acrylic paint while preserving the luminous, atmospheric quality of the original artwork.
