During a residency at the Espace Créatif Caran d'Ache in 2024, at Plateforme 10, I was invited to turn one of the walls into a lush garden.

Titled "Mur Végétal" (Plant Wall), the mural draws on botanical language: interlacing tropical foliage, organic patterns, and a delicate palette balanced between softness and vibrancy.

This wall was assigned to me as part of ISAR'23, the collective residency for Romandy illustrators organized by the Maison Caran d'Ache at the Espace Créatif, which I was fortunate to be invited to alongside six other artists.

The project was led by the talented Geneva-based artist JP Kalonji, ambassador of the Maison and curator of the residency.

The idea grew out of a simple observation: Plateforme 10, this beautiful arts district in Lausanne, lacks greenery. I wanted to bring a bit of nature into it.

I imagined a wall of oversized tropical plants, large enough to make us feel small standing in front of it, and to give us energy to get through the winter. That was the starting point: a bubble of oxygen and color in the middle of the cold season.

As with all my pieces, everything starts with coming back to myself, to get a feel for what I want to say. Then comes research, then sketching, and finally the full-scale mural, my favorite part. Watching the piece take shape on the wall, at real scale, gives me immense pleasure.
